Eric Johnson grew up in Wisconsin and attended college in Wisconsin and Kentucky.  He has a Master’s Degree Entomology from the University of Kentucky.  In 2009, he completed a 30 year federal career as an Entomologist and manager.

Eric has had a life-long drive to create art.  Over the years, he has worked in various art forms, including painting, insect illustration, wood blocks and pen & ink.  It was after retirement that he that branched into mosaics, which he now does exclusively.  “I consider myself  a mosaic illustrator in that I attempt to render recognizable images and personages through colored glass tesserae.  I enjoy the challenge of using blocks of color to create an image”.

Eric has lived in on Squak Mountain in Issaquah, Washington for the past 23 years.  When not in his studio, he enjoys traveling far and wide and hiking the beautiful mountains of Washington state with his wife, Susan.
